The last ever Volvo C30 (pictured) is up for grabs in a Twitter competition
The Volvo C30 has only been with us for seven years, but it’s made its mark. Perhaps the highest profile outing for the C30 was with a starring role in the Twilight films, which exposed the C30 to a very non-Volvo demographic, and made the C30 almost cool. But with Volvo’s new V40 hitting the roads, Volvo revealed they were ending production of the C30 and now they’ve decided they’re going to give away the very last C30 – an R-Design model with Polestar upgrades and an Ice White paint job – in a Twitter competition starting on 13th June.
Former Ford Motor and Mazda designer Laurens van den Acker will succeed Patrick le Quement as head of design at French automaker Renault. Van den Acker, 43, quit as head of design at Mazda earlier this month. He will join Renault on May 15 and assume le Quement's full responsibilities starting on Nov.
Nissan Micra DIG-S - UK Details released
It was only February when the Nissan Micra DIG-S was revealed but Nissan are now ready to let UK motorists loose in their City Car and have sent us price and model details. What we find particulary appealing about the three-pot supercharged Micra DIG-S is that it seems to offer a perfect alternative to the diesel City Car – and with much lower NOx and particulate emissions – but without the penalties in fuel economy normally associated with petrol-engined cars. Not only does it offer economy that compares favourably with a diesel-engined car of a similar size, it suffers no performance penalty either.
